Dumplings (a lo cubano)

 Ingredients:
  • Dumplings
  • sunflower oil
  • soy sauce
  • oregano
  • cumin
  • curry powder
  • onion
  • garlic
  • some herbs to taste, such as coriander, dill etc.

 

How to prepare:

Take a large frying pan, place it on medium fire, add sunflower oil, soy sauce, oregano, cumin, curry powder, onion, garlic (granulated garlic is OK) and some herbs to taste such as coriander, dill etc.

Keep stirring this mixture. When it gets hot, add meat dumplings and fry them for about 10 minutes (do not cover), constantly stirring until golden in colour. Then add boiling water to cover all the dumplings, add salt to taste, creme fraîche, mayonnaise, ketchup and aubergine paste/caviar (baklazhannaya ikra) - this is our secret! Stir the mixture with gold-coloured dumplings in the frying pan until the sauce is smooth and of homogeneous consistency. After that, stop stirring, cover the pan and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, then turn the fire off and leave the dumplings in the covered pan for another five minutes. Your dumplings are ready!

I use the same method to cook dumplings with potato and meat filling. It is also a good idea to mix different types of dumplings together.
